A significant expansion and redevelopment project saw the implementation of a nautical theme in feature areas, originating from the original landowner’s boat-building background. The Boat Ceiling is a 110m-long feature installation, shop-fitted from timber and inset with LED strip lighting, creating visual interest for visitors with added illumination functionality.
Fourways Mall, Johannesburg
Fourways Mall is one of the largest shopping, entertainment and leisure centres in South Africa, situated in the northern part of Johannesburg.
Natural light was incorporated in the design to improve visitor comfort. The installation of several large skylights, the largest being 22m x 18 m, allows sunlight to stream through to the multi-level mall beneath, supplemented by recessed uplighting at each floor for consistent illumination.
