There were numerous challenges in this project, starting with a tight budget and even tighter timescales. The project was fast-tracked, with construction commencing before the lighting design had even been conceptualised. This required the delivery of a fully realised lighting scheme from concept to site within an astounding two-week period, relying heavily on expertise and instincts.
Al Hadheerah, Dubai
The lighting design for Al Hadeerah Restaurant, nestled within the Bab Al Shams Resort, represents a remarkable achievement in marrying traditional Arabian aesthetics with modern lighting innovation.
Al Hadeerah is a unique open-air desert restaurant, situated 300 meters from the main resort and surrounded by sand dunes. The architectural design evokes an Arabian fort, complete with natural stone and rock walls, while the ambience is enhanced by Bedouin horsemen and a camel caravan on the surrounding dunes. The lighting design had to seamlessly blend with this rustic, evocative setting, ensuring the atmosphere was both authentic and future-proofed.
